Match practice Men Monday, 6.00pm (March/April)

Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons are club times when members are encouraged to just turn up and mix in with whoever is at the club at the time.

These occasions provide the ideal opportunity for those just wanting to play for fun, or perhaps those people who last played when they were at school and are keen to return to the game.

As well as ample opportunity for social play, we have two men's and two ladies teams playing in the Leicestershire league. Additionally we have men's and ladies veterans teams, a mixed doubles team and teams in winter leagues.

Several times a year we have internal club mixed doubles  tournaments. Played on Social Nights and Sunday afternoons these are always well subscribed and present the opportunity to meet up with other members and enjoy friendly competition .

Also, we have annual internal singles, doubles and mixed doubles tournaments for which all members are encouraged to enter, with a finals day in September.

Autumn and Winter Floodlight Tournaments are also organised.

We are also active with events such as quizzes, BBQ's, trips to professional tennis events and an annual Dinner Dance held in November at Sketchley Grange Hotel, Burbage .

Whether a senior or a junior, if you simply want to arrange games with your friends then, provided they are also members, there is ample court time for you to just arrange a game and play.

Whatever you want from the game of tennis we, here at Hinckley Town Tennis Club, can provide it and we would be pleased to welcome you as a new member.

Junior Members:

Saturday morning coaching

From as young as four years old, up to age eighteen we offer a range of coaching sessions to match your age and standard, supervised by a qualified Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) coach. This is an activity that all our youngsters enjoy, whilst all the time improving the quality of their play.

The club coach is also available to give private lessons to children as well as running group coaching activities during the week.

Junior teams

We have a mixed doubles team playing in the Leicestershire league and each year we enter a team in the "Fallows Cup" which is a countywide knockout tournament. Additionally we have singles teams entered at U11, U13 & U15 for both boys and girls. Mini tennis matches and teams are also available for the 4 to 13 year olds.

Internal tournaments

We have several categories of internal tournaments ranging from singles U10's through the age ranges to U18's as well as several mixed doubles  tournaments a year.

Summer holiday activities

Throughout the school holidays from Easter onwards we run Saturday tournaments, across various age ranges, whereby our juniors are encouraged to simply turn up and play a competitive match against other junior members. Points are awarded for attendance; sets played as well as sets won. Prizes are awarded at the end of the holiday for the league champions.

LTA tournaments

Each year Hinckley hosts a junior series LTA tournament, which all our youngsters are encouraged to enter. This is our version of Wimbledon. Joined by other youngsters from all over the country, this is a full week of tournament play consisting of singles, doubles and mixed doubles across several age ranges. This really is a great week of tennis, which is thoroughly enjoyed by all those who enter.

Summer school

Following on from the LTA tournament we run a week long summer school of coaching and competitive games across various age ranges which, once again, is met with great enthusiasm for those who join in.

Wimbledon tickets

As a club affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), each year we are allocated a number of tickets to the world's premiere tennis tournament. All members are eligible, subject to conditions, to "go into the hat" and be offered tickets for one of the show courts.
